I notice what other people miss. Then I design it.
I'm Varalee Bunnag, a brand strategist and designer. For 18 years I've helped founders turn what they know about their business into something customers can see.

My why
I've always been an introvert. As the youngest in my family, I was usually the quiet one in the room, and I spent my childhood watching people: how they talked, what caught their eye, and the feelings they never said out loud.
As I grew up, that curiosity found two homes. Art gave me a way to show what I saw. Psychology helped me understand why people do what they do. Brand design is where the two meet. It took me years to realise that this is what clients mean when they say, as they often do, "do your magic".
Most founders already know what makes their business valuable. They just can't see it from the inside, and they can't put it into words. I ask about the purpose, the customer and the price. Then I ask why they started, sometimes all the way back to childhood. Somewhere in that answer is the brand.
I'm Thai and Australian. I lived in Australia for 17 years, studied my Master of Design at UNSW in Sydney, and now work from Bangkok with founders in Australia. I can make a joke land in both cultures, which helps more than you'd think when people are telling me what really matters to them.
Why health products
I've always been interested in health supplements, and I find the human body endlessly fascinating: how it works, how it heals, and what we can do to help it.
That curiosity led me into a healthcare start-up, where I spent seven years as the sole designer. It was fun and challenging in equal measure. After that I led brand work at a supplement laboratory.
Health products are complicated, regulated and hard to trust. I like making them feel simple and trustworthy at every point a customer touches them: positioning, packaging, print, website and sign-up flow.
Packaging studios don't design sign-up flows, and UX designers don't choose paper stock. I do both, and I'm comfortable designing inside TGA requirements.
